At United Cerebral Palsy of Oregon & SW Washington, the individuals and organizations that partner with us are family. We don’t view our supporters, volunteers and donors as a cash machine, who are simply there to help us. We make every effort to see how we can support you as well – after all, isn’t that what ‘community’ is really all about? Yes, we are a non-profit which means money is always an issue. Yes, we accept donations, and it’s great if you can share your resources in this way. But we just as gladly accept donations of your time, your talents and gifts-in-kind. We prefer to think long term and ask the question: “How can this individual or organization, who is partnering with us, also benefit from this arrangement?” You are not a cash machine, you are an individual, a representative of a family or organization, part of the solution, and we are honored you desire to help us. We want to know how we can provide our skills, abilities and resources to improve your life, help your cause or promote your organization.
In this section, which is designed to encourage you to find your place within UCP, we’ve included steps for volunteering, making car donations, providing sponsorships, as well as (of course) making good old online donations. Please take your time to discover where you fit and come armed with a few ideas how we can help you as well. Welcome to the family.
